What School-Based OT Looks Like Inside Real Schools - Join Us!

Hey Reader,

One of the things we heard again and again after last year’s Back to School Conference was this:

OTPs love learning from real school-based OT practitioners.

Real school-based OT practitioners who seriously know what it feels like to walk into a school building, look at a full caseload, collaborate with teachers, and try to make evidence-informed practice actually work inside real school systems.

That feedback stuck with me, and it has shaped this year's Conference.

While research is important, I know you don't want more of what should work. You want more of what you can implement on Monday morning.

This is why we've asked OT practitioners with real school-based OT experience to speak at the Back to School Conference.

They're not joining us to show you what OT could look like or to push a hidden agenda. Rather, they simply want to share with you exactly what OT looks like in the schools they've put real effort into.

At the 2026 Back to School Conference, you'll learn:

  • Exactly how Moira Bushell worked with school staff to build OT into the MTSS program
  • How to look at your evaluation and determine what academic skills really need a goal written for them
  • What an effective (and evidence-based) sensory integration program in the school setting actually looks like - from the OT who developed the program.
  • How to incorporate the most up-to-date AT tools and if, when, & where AI fits into IEP accommodations.
  • How to support your middle and high school students with transitioning into life beyond high school
  • How to adjust your evaluations little by little to become more neurodiversity-affirming.

These sessions are not just about the theory behind MTSS, SI, AT, or neurodiversity.

They are about what it looks like to implement these ideas in your practice, just like our speakers have.

That is what makes the Back to School Conference different.

It's not about what the research says should work. It is about what will work - for you.

Until next time,

👋 Jayson

P.S. If you have ever left a PD thinking, “That sounds great, but how would I actually do that in my school?” - this conference was built with you in mind.
