Attending the Back to School Conference live?

Hey Reader,

It's official. We are just 48 hours from the start of the Back to School Conference.

And in case you haven't noticed, the community is already buzzing with therapists welcoming one another, asking for and providing support in the OTP Support space, and entering to win one of over a dozen giveaways.

Now, if you plan to attend any part of the conference live this weekend, this Thursday Tip is for you!

RSVP for the sessions you plan to attend

Want to add sessions to your digital calendar and get a link to join sent directly to your email before the start of each session?

If yes, then be sure to RSVP for each session you plan to attend live - it only takes a few seconds!

You can view each session inside the Conference Schedule (log in here to access it).

When you hit that clue RSVP button on the right side of your screen, an option to add the event (link included) directly to your calendar will pop up. In addition to that, RSVPing will prompt our system to send you an email about 1-hour before the session starts with a reminder that it is starting soon.

Do I have to RSVP to attend live?

No, you do not have to RSVP.

To join without RSVPing, locate the session you wish to join at the time it starts. Then click on the "Join Virtual Event" link. This will open the Zoom room for you to participate in. You can view this in the Giff above.

Final Days to Log In Early!

Don't wake up Saturday to find out your password doesn't work or you can't access the community. We will be here to support you in that event, but it will be far less stressful for you to let us help you today.

If you have not logged in yet:

  • Click on this link and select "Sign in with Email" if prompted.
  • Then use the following credentials:
    Email: Reader
    Password: Back2School!
  • You may be asked to use a confirmation code that will be sent to your email.
  • Complete your profile page, and you'll be ready for the conference!

If you prefer video support, click here to watch a 4-minute video I recorded for you about logging in.

If you have already logged in once (or more):

  • Click here to access the login page.
  • If you are not automatically logged in, click "Sign in with email" and use this email address - Reader - and your password to access the conference portal.

If you have tried both of the above methods, try this:

  • Click on this link to access the sign-in page.
  • Then click on "Forgot your password?" and enter your email - Reader.
  • After you click "Reset my password," check your inbox (and your junk inbox) for an email from OT Schoolhouse with a link to reset your password.

If you continue having trouble logging in after that, please reply and let me know so I can help you log in!

Get ready!

Thanks again for logging in early. I look forward to seeing you in the community this weekend.

By the way, be sure to grab the presenter slides while you are RSVPing to each session. They are in the event pages where you RSVP, and all session slides are now available.

Have a great Thursday!

Presented by Pearson Hey Reader, I hope you're having a fantastic end to February! Today, I want to share some nature-inspired insights about classroom design that could improve our support of both teachers and students. I recently spoke with Alex Thompson, a former teacher turned OT who's revolutionizing classroom spaces (and school-based OT within MTSS) using nature-inspired design principles. Her teaching background gives her a unique perspective on creating environments that work for...

Presented by theOT Schoolhouse Collaborative Hey Reader, Let’s be real for a second. Learning evidence-based practices in OT has never been easier. At the OT Schoolhouse alone, we’ve published over 220 hours of audio and video courses on school-based OT, much of it for free! But here’s the catch: while acquiring knowledge is simple, putting it into practice is a whole different game. How many times have you left a PD course bursting with ideas, only to find yourself struggling to implement...

Hey Reader, We are just three days away from kicking off the conference, so now is the perfect time to grab the presentation slides! Scroll down for a brief tutorial on finding and downloading the slides. It is also a great time to share the questions you would like Abe Saffer, Amanda Gibbs, and me to answer at the Advocacy Q&A panel. Click here to submit your question. We will take questions live at the event, but questions submitted beforehand will be prioritized. Grab the session slides!...
